... just don't get it. To quote one of their five acceptance speeches: 'With these awards people are using their freedom of speech'. That is I think supposed to be a jab at George W. Bush, who they criticized 4 years ago because of the Iraq War. Ironically, if the judges were simply 'using their freedom of speech' when they awarded the Chicks, then those awards were given more to make a political statement rather than for actual musical merit.
What's that? Award shows are always gaudy exercises of lefty self-gratification? Pardon?
